How much should you tip your hair stylist?

When some clients choose to add more

The independent vs. commission distinction
Salon pay structures vary, and clients usually cannot see the exact split, rent, product cost, or overhead behind a service. That makes broad rules about commission stylists and independent stylists unreliable.
Follow the policy the business shares, then choose what feels right for you. Owning a salon does not create a hidden tip amount you need to guess.
