What "balayage" actually means
Balayage means painting color by hand. The colorist chooses where to put the light pieces and may use foils or another way to process them. The aim is depth and a soft blend as hair grows. (See the glossary entry on balayage.) The price depends on how much hair needs work, how light you want it, and what is included at the end.
Compare what the appointment includes
A "partial" at one salon may cover more hair than a "partial" at another. One price may include a gloss and style; another may charge for those steps. Ask which areas of the hair the price covers and what else you might need.
